Partly thanks to the media hype around the James Webb Telescope, I became obsessed with time: the 14 B year kind of time. On an ever-expanding timeline measured in billions of years, where do you place the few years of a human life? This set of work, “Evidence of Me”, is an exploration of the intersection of a reality on a human level with the reality proposed by Science. At a very basic level, I wanted to prove that I do actually exist. Many of these images involve, metaphorically or actually, the documentation of photons as they encounter my physical body. They become collected evidence that, despite being just a blip on the Cosmic Timeline, I “am”. This work reflects an ongoing primal and visceral drive to find answers to life’s unanswerable questions. I can’t help it.
